Course Description

The significant and increasing use of educational technologies in the classroom has brought new demands and challenges for teachers in Primary, Secondary schools and TAFE. The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies aims to provide understanding, confidence and tools for Primary and Secondary teachers to enable them to incorporate educational technologies into a variety of teaching contexts, combining a formal education with reflective and research components. Hands-on experience will allow teachers to develop a high degree of competence in the use of tools that enhance teacher capabilities and learning outcomes and promote student engagement.

The program aims to prepare teachers to meet the growing demands of educational technologies, which are available to teachers and commonly used by students and the pedagogy around their use.

Entrance Requirements

Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies is available to domestic applicants who hold a recognised teaching qualification and have relevant professional experience as required for graduate certificate entry. It is preferred that candidates are currently practicing educators.


Program Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technologies consists of 50 credit points comprising four compulsory units of study, each worth 12.5 credit points. Units of study will be offered in six week study blocks. The minimum time to complete the program is 12 months.
