Course Description
The convergence of computing and telecommunications is creating a new kind of networking technology based on IP networks and multimedia applications. IP networking is expected to be everywhere and to offer multimedia services of all types. There is an increasing demand for mobility and seamless access to global networks. Within corporations, intranets support the interaction of people and the linking of people to information systems.
This program is intended for new graduates as well as experienced ones who wish to update their skills or change their area of specialisation. It is concerned with the design, management and maintenance of networks in corporations and public networks, or service provision to public and private networks.Aims and Objectives
To provide excellent career opportunities by offering a high level of coverage of networking principles and an appreciation of the emerging issues and technologies in networks, together with specific competencies (industry certification material such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP and Microsoft MCSE).
Entrance Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or Commerce.
Without degree qualifications, substantial relevant network industry experience is required.
Program Structure
The graduate certificate consists of 50 credit points of study. Entry is available in either Semester 1 (Feb) or Semester 2 (July).
The course is offered on a full-time or part-time basis and takes a minimum of 6 months or the equivalent part-time.
