- This innovative new program is structured as an “integrated” degree that provides an opportunity for students to receive a Diploma in IT whilst studying Bachelors degree in ICT.
- You can gain two qualifications in 3 years providing you with a significant employment advantage.
- Students are eligible to undertake an optional year of Industry-Based Learning after completion of the second year of the program.
- Integrated programs such as the BAppICT offer savings on the fees normally charged under the HECS-HELP arrangements as the first year will be charged with the lower TAFE fees.
Course Description
This course provides a general program of study in computing including skills and knowledge in databases, networking, software development and software management. It has a practical approach with an emphasis on problem solving and project work.
Career Outcomes
There are a large number of job roles available for those with applied ICT qualifications and experience in web and mobile application development. Roles include application developer, quality assurance analyst, project manager, multimedia developer, mobile application developer, systems architect, business requirements analyst, technical writer, application integration specialist and user interface analyst.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of an appropriate Victorian Year 12 or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification.
VCE Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 20 in English (any).
Program Structure
The first year of the program students study 21 units including core units, specialist core units and elective units.
The second and final year of the program students study 12 core units and either 4 elective units or a minor (4 units).
