Industry-Based Learning

Industry-Based Learning (IBL) is a program offered at undergraduate level in which students are offered the opportunity to undertake a full-time paid placement in industry in an area relevant to their studies. It is offered at many Universities throughout the world and is known by many names, including Co-operative Education and Sandwich Year.

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies has a strong industry focus. Most of our students commence challenging, well-paid jobs in industry when they graduate and our research shows that IBL has been a significant contributer to these successful outcomes. Our curriculum and Industry-Based Learning program focuses on ensuring that students gain the necessary knowledge and skills through direct industry experience. We work closely with both organisations and students to ensure that placements are of benefit to all involved.

We encourage you to become involved!
