FreeBird - Air Traffic Simulation Project

Faculty of ICT students are reaching new heights, completing an innovative and complex technical project. In conjunction with Thales, who is a global technology leader for the aerospace, space, defence, security and transportation markets. As part of a final year project, Swinburne students in conjunction with Thales, created an air traffic control system called "FreeBird". FreeBird is an air traffic visualisation tool created for Air Traffic controllers that projects future air traffic visually. Unlike existing air traffic visualisation tools, FreeBird possesses the ability to look into the future rather than visualising flights in real time.
