Astrophysics Centre of Excellence

The Australian Research Council announced that CAASTRO, the Centre of Excellence for All-sky Astronomy was funded at a level of 20.6M over seven years from 2011-2017.

Professor Matthew Bailes and Professor Warrick Couch from the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing are co-Investigators in this programme which includes the University of Sydney, the Australian National University, the University of Melbourne and the International Centre for Radio Astronomy in Perth.

The Centre will investigate three aspects of fundamental astronomy, the Dynamic, Dark and Evolving Universe, with the Dynamic Universe theme being managed from Swinburne.
